Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using the Cards application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Account
You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Each account is for a single individual — you may not share or transfer your account to another person. Impersonating another person or entity is prohibited.
3. Subscription and Billing
Cards offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. All purchases, including monthly and lifetime subscriptions, are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access until then.
Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their standard policies. We have no ability to issue refunds directly. Lifetime purchases are non-refundable after 14 days.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the App or our servers by automated means.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content without our prior written consent.
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of any flashcard decks and content you create within the App ("User Content"). By creating User Content, you grant Cards a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and sync your content for the purpose of providing the service to you.
We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will not use it for any purpose beyond operating the App.
6. Marketplace (Future Feature)
We plan to introduce a deck marketplace where users can publish and share decks. When this feature launches, additional contributor terms will apply, including content moderation guidelines and revenue-sharing terms where applicable. We will notify you before these terms take effect.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the App. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 8, 9, and 10) will remain in effect.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
Educational guidance only. The FSRS spaced-repetition algorithm produces scheduling recommendations for educational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cards' total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the total subscription fees you paid to Cards in the 12 months preceding the claim. Cards is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the company is registered (to be confirmed by legal counsel). Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
